Weekend Mini Blythe Meet!

First off, you can click on this awesome mosaic for a larger view. These are some shots from a Dolly gathering this past weekend with Maggie Stimson, Theo Malloy and myself in Columbia, MD. Everyone had incredible dolls and fashions. We had some swapping, selling and gifting, and Maggie showed me how to change eye chips with the hot glue stick and hot cotton ball method.

Theo showed us all her Momokos, Azones and Fashion Royalty and their massive wardrobe. We talked about Blythecon, Fashion Royalty Convention and the International Fashion Doll Convention. And our theme was Alice in Wonderland. A great time was had by all (three).

What's It All About, Blythie?

What IS it all about, Blythie? I am sure that is what you are asking yourself! Well, ask no more, and hop on over to ZNE Dollz http://www.znedolls.com/ for a new public blog, co-coordinated by me, for doll lovers of ALL kinds from Blythe to Momoko, ball-jointed dolls (BJD), dal, Dolfie, Pullip, vintage, china, paper, fabric, antique, ATC, stuffies and more.

ZNE Dollz is a public blog, affiliated with the ZNE Network (VariaZioNE) art group and ZNE Blogz. There will be bountiful information for an endless variety of dolls, doll makers and collectors, as well as interviews, reviews and a bi-weekly DIY/BIY column by me! Yay! Thanks to creator, founder and co-coordinator Chelise Stroud Hery of California for creating this lovely sub-header as well as the lovely blog in general! Dolls are HOT and so is our blog. My Blythe Obsession

My love affair with Blythe only recently begun, having cluelessly missed them during their debuts in 1972 and 2000. I think I first spotted them on Flickr and then quickly made the leap to the This is Blythe forum. Blythes of course made their meteoric rise thanks to the supremely talented Gina Garan and her incredible photographic skills and love for Blythe. Her books and photos are total eye candy.

I started out with Lilly London, a Star Dancer from Tokyo; Maggy, an ADG Princess Parfait brunette from Illinois and Zena, a custom and a surprise gift from a wonderful person. I had some others; then I sold some. Now the bug is back, and I have a few customs as you can see above. The count is getting perilously close to filling Blythe Manor II, my 12-room Blythe size 1:6 Mod-ish dollhouse. I had one of those before recently, and sold everything. I also had a childhood 1:12 metal dollhouse with Petite Princess furniture, which I pitched. Ack.

But for now, all these girlz really like to do is shop, change clothes, get their hair and nails done, get their pictures taken, pour over Flickr Blythe groups and Blythe blogs and websites. They talk on their cell a lot, but they do keep their room pretty clean. Occasionally, they do art and cook. Oh yeah, and shop on ebay and look for Re-ment. We hang out on Plastic Paradise, too. It's a doll's life!
