Daisy gets the big head after cover appearance on Lucky Blythe

Miss Daisy received her issues of Lucky Blythe Friday from Confettilexi, and boy, have things gotten dicey around Blythe Manor! First, Daisy demanded to put on the Marie Antoinette 'queen' dress and headpiece from My Own Little World creations.
Then, she summoned all the girlz in the house, and even our guest, Fawn, to a cover-signing 'rehearsal.' Daisy believes she will need to have her signature perfected before she ventures out to the grocery store, or anywhere, for that matter, as she expects to be swarmed by the paparazzi.
Since Daisy is a permanent resident of Blythe Manor, she apparently decided she could make a few extra little demands: new Coach or Tiffany pullrings, her own bedroom, first dibs on any new rooms in Blythe Manor, no more 'baby' dresses, a full-time bodyguard, prior approval of any new Flickr pics, a goldfish and a pony. Hmmm. We shall see.

Finally Got the Holy Grail; Who Cares if they're Re-Sale?

It's hard to believe some one-inch plastic or rubber or kryptonite little red shoes could make my day, but that's just what these red and white scalloped mary janes did on Friday. And I think I was still grinning on Saturday and Sunday

As they once came on a Kayla Barbie that is very scarce, even on Ebay, and as no one seems to want to part with them, I thought I'd never own a pair. In their heyday, they went for as high as $75 on Ebay. They're practically impossible to copy; I've not seen a decent painted imitation. But luckily for me, I saw a pair listed on Plastic Paradise at a very reasonable price. And I didn't even see them until day two of their listing. Still can't believe I got them!

Like the shoes, nearly everything else above is secondhand, or re-sale, including all the dolls except my blonde Star Dancer, Lilly. Virginia, the redhead with the shoes, came from Australia, and her felted jacket and darling dress came from two different PP sales. Daisy, Lilly and Charlotte are wearing, for the most part, all second-hand fashions, also from PP. From left, an Aminomopop coat, knitted hat, Mochi Mochi pants, top and purse and then granny-square crocheted skirt are all "used." The rest of the trio's items are from Ebay or Etsy

And, what can I say about Alice's incredible Marie Antoinette-like gown? This was made in Ohio by "My Own Little World," traveled to who knows where and ended up in the Netherlands, where I bought it on PP. Back to the states it came. It is much more divine in person than the picture shows. Hooray for Blythe owners who re-use, re-purpose, re-style and re-sell.

Blythe as Marie Antoinette

I was just blogging about all things Marie (again) over on my art blog, so I decided to post here a few of my all-time favorite Blythe-As-Marie Antoinette pictures. Love the Dainty Biscuit outfit, but give me the hair! I'd love to have any of these hairstytles above, even the pink, even if just for day!

Time for a Change of Clothes, That's All

The slumber party-that-would-never-end finally did, so everyone had to get dress. Violet and Maggy chose vintage Skipper: Lots of Lace and Cookie Time. Gwynyth wanted to channel Marie Antoinette while Olivia was channeling either Fruit Punch or Aunt Blabby. Then there's Zena, ah Zena, the Art-Blythe. She concocted a most interesting outfit from Sugarmag, Louos Loves, Converse from Blythe Kingdom and more. But, what are ya gonna do with a blue-haired gal?

Art and Blythe Come Together

What's this you ask? I haven't posted here in some time, and now I try to get away with putting something from my art blog http://lillysoflondonish.blogspot.com here? Relax. It is Blythe-related. Lisa Kettell of The Faerie Zine and http://faerieenchantment.blogspot.com, also a Blythe fan, decided to host a Blythe Costume Swap.
So, I made a Marie Antoinette-style dress for my recipient Cyndi of http://dragonflysdreamz.blogspot.com. Nevermind that I've become fascinated (again) with Marie Antoinette after a great interest in high school xx years ago (and no, that's not 'xx' for 20). The Faerie Zine has actually been doing a lot of 'Marie' stuff, so it seemed quite natural to choose this for my costume. Thankfully (I think), Cyndi does not have a Blythe doll (the horror!) and just wanted a costume to display. So, this is made by attaching brocade, lace, velvet, wire, vintage millinery and vintage jewelry directly to a miniature (7") styrofoam dress form. 'Marie' will be winging her way to Alabama come Tuesday.
Maybe then the Blythe Manor girls here will get some attention. They have been unattended for a couple of weeks while I focus on art. They'll be gettin' all gussied up next weekend as we head to Michigan for the http://thisisblythe.com/forum TIB Michigan Blythe Meet-Up in Battle Creek at Auntie Angela's http://geminiangelsart.blogspot.com. A swap, photo ops, treats and more are planned. Blythe-o-licious!
